Dr. Kler earned his MBBS from Patiala Medical College and his MD in Medicine and DM in Cardiology from PGI Chandigarh. He earned his MRCP in the United Kingdom before returning to India in 1989 to become one of the founding doctors of Escorts Heart Institute, where he worked for 28 years, the last 12 as its Executive Director. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) in the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC). He is a life member of the IMA, CSI, ICC, API, IHRS, and HRS. His most recent position was as Chairman- PSRI Heart at PSRI Hospital in New Delhi.Institute. Dr. Kler is an extremely busy interventional cardiologist with over 25,000 coronary, renal, carotid, and peripheral angioplasties done. He is a pioneer in electrophysiology and founded India's first dedicated electrophysiology department at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute. In 1993, he launched the radio Frequency Ablations programme at Escorts. He was India's first doctor to implant an ICD, CRT-P, and CRT-D. In 2015, he also performed the first HIS bundle pacing in India. He was crucial in establishing RF Ablation and cardiac device implantation programmes at several centres throughout India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan. He has about 150 national and international journal papers to his credit and has served on the editorial board of the Indian Heart Journal.
