Treatment & Diagnosis
The doctor examines the patient physically to examine the tissues present under the arm. To define the kind of tissue in the lump, anisotropy (tissue stiffness) and hypertrophy (tissue thickness) are measured.
The doctor suggests the following tests for further investigation:
Ultrasound- This test aids in determining the structure of the underarm lump as well as any abnormalities in the tissues (if any).
A mammogram is indicated to rule out the chance of breast cancer.
Ace Medicare experts use liposuction and excision procedures to remove the bulge under the arm. The method is carried out in the phases listed.
Procedure
Initially, the patient will be given anaesthetic. Yet, in rare circumstances, local Anesthesia may be administered.
The surgeon will mark the incision site and place the liposuction needle into the desired region. If laser liposuction is utilised, the surgeon will place the laser fibre in the desired location.
A suction device is used to break down and retrieve fat from the underarm.
If the breast glandular tissues have reached the underarm region, the surgeon will remove them by a 3-4 cm incision with a knife or laser.
Stitches or surgical glue will be used to seal the wound.
The complete treatment takes 45 minutes to an hour at most. After the surgery, the patient is discharged the same day.
