He attended Nagarjuna Sagar's AP Residential School Survail and APRJC.He was the EAMCET top scorer in the 1980 cohort. He received his medical degree from Osmania Medical College in Hyderabad. He was a socially active student. He completed his postgraduate studies in orthopaedics at PGI, Chandigarh, one of India's best institutes.Then he travelled to the United Kingdom for 14 years. After completing his FRCS General, he went on to obtain his FRCS in Orthopaedics from four Royal Colleges at the Royal London and Saint Bartholomew Hospitals in London.
